Retreat at Serpom Monastery, Bylakuppe
Atish Dipankar Dhyan Kendra’s annual retreat was held in the Serpom Thoesam Norling Monastery campus at Bylakuppe, Karnataka, from September 28 to October 5, 2025. The topic was Je Tsongkhapa’s Three Principal Aspects of the Path to Enlightenment. Our generous hosts, the monks of Serpom Monastery, provided us with the perfect conditions for the weeklong retreat at their quiet and serene Serpom Achi House.
We also had the opportunity to meet Geshe Lobsang Kelsang, the abbott of Serpom Monastery, and have an enriching discussion with him about our spiritual practice. Situated in the Tibetan settlement of Bylakuppe in the Mysore district, Serpom Thoesam Norling is a monastic university dedicated to advanced studies in Buddhism.
