Mindfulness and Concentration Practice on Breathing – Path to Liberation (October 2-4, 2020): Our first meditation retreat, held during the pandemic, began with the preparatory practice of mindfulness of breathing and ended with the practice of mounting taking and giving upon the breath.
Knowing our Mind – Training in Mahamudra (December 25-29, 2020): This five-day retreat initiated us into the four preliminary guides to the practice of Mahamudra (Refuge and Bodhichitta, Meditation and Recitation of Vajrasattva, Mandala Offering and Guru Yoga), two ways of training in Mahamudra, and six stages of training in Mahamudra.
How to Integrate Practice in Daily Life – Introduction to the practice of Conscientiousness, Alertness and Mindfulness (April 23-26, 2021): This retreat was based on Venerable Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche’s commentary on Buddhist master Shantideva’s celebrated work, Bodhicaryavatara. Each session consisted of transmission and commentary to the text, instructions and guided meditation.
Purification and Healing Retreat (December 25-28, 2021): In this retreat, we received training in applying the four opponent powers to purify one’s non-virtuous actions, downfalls and broken commitments and strengthen one’s spiritual practice, through the meditation and recitation of the Vajrasattva prayer.
